RINLA serves member businesses by taking an ecosystem approach to influencing policy and implementing programs that elevate industry standards, increase its member businesses’ capacity, and contribute to the well-being of Rhode Island’s communities, economy, and natural resources. RINLA is committed to stewardship, equity, and education, to innovating and advancing the industry.

RINLA’s members include nurseries, landscape contractors, arborists, green engineers, masons, garden centers, landscape architects, landscape designers, fruit and vegetable growers, compost and mulch producers, fine gardeners, suppliers, allied businesses, and others. Among the members are small and medium size businesses, regional outposts of large multi-national companies, multi-generational businesses, and start-ups.

Founded in 1919, RINLA’s roots are deep. The organization has become the leading voice in the state and the region bridging connections among climate change, resilience, landscape design and maintenance, food production, and green infrastructure. RINLA supports member businesses in their role as natural resources managers, first responders to environmental damage brought by changing climate, and the front-line workers equipped with the design abilities, materials, equipment, and skills to minimize the impacts of these events.
